The Ross County Historical Society invites the community to enjoy a leisurely Sunday afternoon at the historic Franklin House during our Franklin House Card Party on Sunday, September 13, from 2:00–6:00 p.m.

Located at 80 S. Paint St. in Chillicothe, the Franklin House will be open to visitors free of charge throughout the afternoon. 

Guests are encouraged to explore the historic home at their own pace, ask questions of Ross County Historical Society staff and volunteers, and learn more about the Franklin family and the history of the house. 

In keeping with the spirit of the afternoon, visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in card games that would have been popular during the early 20th century. Whether you're an experienced card player or simply looking for something fun to do, the card party offers a chance to experience a bit of everyday life from another era. 

The Franklin House Card Party is part of Ohio Open Doors, a statewide celebration highlighting Ohio’s historic places and the stories they tell. The event is designed to encourage both longtime residents and first-time visitors to discover the history that exists right in their own community.
