Monday, December 1, 2025 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (EST)

Description

The Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Ohio Department of Children & Youth for a special explainer session on the newly created Child Care Credit program, which can help retain employees through a tri-share approach to child care costs.

Joel Potts, Chief Government and External Affairs Officer for the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, will lead the call. He will explain aspects of the program and take questions. The Microsoft Team session will begin at noon on Monday, Dec. 1.

With its support from Ross County and backing from State Rep. Mark Johnson, R-Chillicothe, the program's funding was included in the recently passed state biennial budget. The program is modeled after successful programs in North Carolina, Michigan, and other states.

The program allows families to split childcare costs three ways: 40 percent each to the employer and the employee, with the state covering 20 percent. All you need is a willing employer to register with the state and eligible employees.

WHAT: Keep Your Employees with CCC

WHEN: Monday, Dec. 1 at noon WHERE: Virtual session

WHY: Childcare costs are a significant program across the state, particularly in southern Ohio.
