You're invited to join the Ross County Park District and the Chamber team for a ribbon cutting at the Herron-Downs Fen Nature Preserve on Friday, June 20 at Noon!

 This 174-acre property, located south of Kinnikinnick Creek between US 23 and SR 159, was acquired in late 2022 and features riparian woodlands, wetlands, wooded ridges, and former farmland. Thanks to a generous Ohio EPA grant, a major ecological restoration will begin this year, transforming the preserve back to its natural state with marshes, vernal pools, and forested wetlands.

Attendees will enjoy a light lunch, snacks and drinks, and have the opportunity to take a guided hike on a newly developed 2.7-mile trail while learning more about the exciting plans for the future of the preserve.
