
Executive Assistant to the Superintendent
Job Summary
The Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of the Pickaway-Ross JVSD plays a critical role in supporting the overall operations of the organization. This position involves managing the Superintendent's schedule, assisting in coordinating office activities and school events, and providing clerical support for the Board of Education. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and be proficient in various office management tasks, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Essential Duties
- Manage and maintain calendars for the Superintendent to ensure efficient scheduling of meetings and appointments.
- Provide all clerical assistance to the Board of Education, including but not limited to preparation and assembly of Board Meeting agendas, minutes, and other communications.
- Plan and organize refreshments for Board of Education meetings and other school events.
- Perform clerical tasks including filing, typing, and document preparation to support school administrative functions.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and school-related software for document creation, database creation, collaboration, and communication with team members.
- Implement and manage office procedures to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain organized files and records to ensure easy access to important information.
- Collaborate with various departments to facilitate smooth daily operations.
Requirements
- Graduate from a standard high school and/or business school supplemented by courses in keyboarding, computer literacy, software packages and business or secretarial practices.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or a minimum of four years of experience involving active use of modern office equipment, public contact and pertinent policies, rules, and regulations, student information systems, work order systems, staff training systems, Google Docs, Microsoft suite, and experience in state education systems and educator licensure.
- Training and experience should provide the following knowledges, abilities, and skills:
1. Working knowledge of modern office procedures, practices, systems, and equipment; specific knowledge of word processing (i.e., Microsoft Office package), computers, copiers, and all other office equipment pertinent to the position.
2. Ability to make minor decisions in accordance with policy; ability to meet situations requiring discretion and to provide office leadership to clerical staff.
3. Ability to organize and set priorities in a logical and rational manner.
4. Ability to assemble, organize, and present in written form statistical, financial, and factual information derived from a variety of sources.
5. Ability to establish and maintain a cordial and effective working relationship with associates, staff, students, and the general public.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
This is a 12-month, overtime-exempt, classified position in a career and technology center. Pickaway-Ross CTC serves junior and senior high school students from area high schools.
Effective date: July 1, 2025 (training prior to July 1 will be required)
