Juvenile Court Probation Officer

Ross County Juvenile Court | Chillicothe, OH

Ross County Juvenile Court is a State-recognized Title IV-E Court seeking a Juvenile Court Probation Officer to support court-involved youth and families through a rehabilitative, family-centered approach. This position blends probation supervision with case management and social-work principles to promote accountability, stability, and positive outcomes.

What You’ll Do

·         Provide case management and probation supervision for unruly and delinquent youth

·         Work collaboratively with youth, families, and community partners using a wraparound model

·         Conduct pre-dispositional investigations and prepare court recommendations

·         Facilitate family and service team meetings

·         Develop and monitor individualized case plans

·         Maintain documentation in SACWIS and ensure regulatory compliance

·         Coordinate placements and services when youth are in court custody

Work Environment

·         Office, court, and community-based settings

·         County and out of county travel required

·         Occasional evening or weekend availability

Qualifications

·         Associate degree + 5 years of relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience

·         Experience working with court-involved or high-risk youth

·         Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills

·         Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality

Preferred:

·         Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field.

·         Experience in juvenile court, probation, child welfare, or SACWIS

·         Experience with mental health, substance use, or restorative justice programming

Schedule, Salary & Benefits

·         Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm (on-call availability as needed)

·         Salary: 21.00-25.00 hourly based on experience
