Mosquito Control Technician

POSITION INTRODUCTION – SEASONAL TEMPORARY POSITION

APPROX. END OF MAY – AUGUST.

The Mosquito Control Technician functions as part of the Environmental Health (EH) team 

under the supervision of the Director of Environmental Health. A Mosquito Control Technician 

provides mosquito borne disease prevention education, community outreach, mosquito 

surveillance, and pesticide interventions as a strategy to reduce mosquito borne illnesses in Ross 

County Ohio. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and CHARACTERISTICS:

• Must have earned a bachelor’s degree in natural science, environmental science, public 

health or related field, and previous experience in environmental health, or an equivalent 

combination of training, education, and/or experience OR a student working on a 

bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in natural science, environmental science, public 

health, or similar field. 

• Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays. 

• ARC / GIS experience preferred.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and remain insurable in accordance with 

the agency’s insurance policy.

• Must be able to pass a B.C.I. Background.

• Must be able to pass a Drug Screening

Salary: $15.50 per hour

Hours: M – F 8:00 Am – 4:30 PM
