JOB OVERVIEW

The Plumbing Manager directs and supervises other plumbing technicians effectively to repair, install, start-up, operation, and maintain all plumbing requirements for residential and commercial services. Routinely, Plumbing Manager’s work with install technicians, dispatch staff, and other managers to ensure customer satisfaction while achieving plumbing tasks. The Plumbing Mangers will often interact and communicate with vendors, suppliers, clients, and lead company representatives.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Work with marketing team to build a regional marketing plan.

    Be responsible for the technical leadership and growth of the Plumbing Service technicians for residential and commercial service.

    Be directly involved with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring techs that meet the core values of Accurate to reach our goals and dismiss those that do not participate in working towards those goals.

    Create an atmosphere that will encourage people to work towards reaching the goals of the company.

    Demonstrate the willingness and desire to “sell” from the field.

    Assess, estimate, price and sell service opportunities.

    Continue developing an understanding of Accurate company/plumbing department gross margins and pricing of repairs, service/maintenance agreements, and other cost/pricing processes.

    Will be responsible for reaching the budgeted service revenue and departmental gross margins.

    Develop/maintain a cooperative relationship between the Small Project Plumbing, Mechanical Plumbing and both Commercial and Residential HVAC departments.

    Maintain the company tradition of “Leadership by Example” within the Plumbing Service and Special Projects Department.

    Develop/maintain a comprehensive backflow program including certifications and marketing.

    Increase jetter services and promotions.

    Develop/maintain plumbing service area with Commercial Plumbing Director. Target region with growth outward.

    Provide leads to Special Projects department.

    Establish regional revenue goals annually.

    Establish manpower staffing goals annually based on regional revenue goals.

    Review pricing methodology annually.

    Equip techs to price repairs.

    Establish systemic process to update pricing as required.

    Establish tech level and classifications.

    Other duties as assigned by Management.

TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT

1. Technician development:

    Work with HR to identify training needs (individually and collectively) and facilitate regular training classes for technicians.

    Familiarize yourself with and continually upgrade tech classifications.

    Develop a plan/road map for each technician that will encourage continual improvement in all.

    Review progress of team on a regular basis and complete annual evaluations.

    Review individual and department productivity reports and use as a resource for tech development.

    Continual support of team on problem jobs.

    Develop an on-call support system that exceeds our customers’ expectations of customer service.

    Monitor call backs and work with technicians for zero call backs.

    Maintain high morale and efficiency in team.

    Ensure technicians are maximizing the RFS.

2. Dispatching

    Work with the CSR’s to prioritize/schedule service techs, including on-call rotation (future).

3. Commercial/Residential Customer Relations

    Work with customers to develop and maintain solid long-term working relationships.

    Work closely with HVAC team to share customer leads.

4. Repair Estimates

    Develop and maintain estimating forms, documentation, and pricing procedures to produce repair estimates for all service repairs/installs.

    Provide training and assistance to service technicians for preparation of repair estimates and proposals.

QUALIFICATIONS

    Excellent customer service and sales skills

    Three years Plumbing Management related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Exhibit an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Plumbing trade.
