POSITION INTRODUCTION
The Public Health Nurse/Epidemiologist utilizes nursing and public health concepts to provide
health promotion and disease prevention, control, and surveillance for individuals, families,
facilities, and the community. Participates in public health programs including communicable
disease control, immunizations, community education, injury prevention, health screenings, and
selected grant-sponsored programs. Nursing actions are directed towards goals of prevention,
assessment, investigation, case management, monitoring, and surveillance. Upholds quality
assurance, safety, and other program initiatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS:
• At least 2 years of nursing or epidemiology experience with strong clinical,
communication, and presentation skills.
• Skilled in nursing practice (e.g., vaccine administration, universal precautions, HIPAA,
and related public health nursing duties).
• Must have the ability to appropriately interact with a diverse population.
• RN, BSN, or MPH
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Current active license as Registered Nurse in Ohio in accordance with ORC 4723.12.
• Valid State of Ohio driver’s license and remain insurable in accordance with the agency’s
insurance policy.
• Must have a current CPR certification.
• Must be able to pass a BCI Background Check & Drug Screening.

• 8-hour shift
