CHILLICOTHE - American DND, one of our newer members, is already making solid contributions to the community.

The company - more formally known as American Demolition & Nuclear Decommissioning and currently working at the DOE site near Piketon - made a $4,000 donation to the Good Samaritan Food Network of Ross County.

Rick Dearholt and Blake Schaab of American DND presented a check to the food pantry on Thursday, Dec. 15.

Mike Thompson, general manager of the Good Sam Food Network, said the donation was particularly timely because of the holiday season. With Good Sam's connection to Mid-Ohio Food Bank, the local food pantry can likely turn the $4,000 donation into about $6,500 worth of food to distribute to needy families in Ross County.

Good Sam is also looking for volunteers. Thompson says they are about 20 volunteers short currently.
