It's not too late to start planning for back-to-school or fall seasons
If you haven’t started planning for back-to-school or fall kickoffs, now is the time to begin planning and messaging. If you’re a retail business, this is your reminder that now is also the time to start planning your holiday features. Many tier 1 outlets and long-lead publications (think: print glossy magazines) start putting together their holiday roundups around this time.
If you’re not familiar with a roundup, here’s the scoop:
Roundups are listings or editor’s picks of top products or services surrounding a certain theme. You’ll usually find these during periods when there is a lot of news on a single topic, like the holidays. Because there isn’t the time/space to dedicate to all of the great new products and services that relate to said topic, they’ll put together lists.
Some examples include: “Best handmade gifts for mother’s day.”, “Best gift for the guy who has everything.”, “Top gifts for bourbon lovers.” etc. While these are retail-specific headlines, you can find relevant angles for services, too.
When you’re putting together a roundup pitch, the more specific you can be to an audience, the better the likelihood of inclusion.
