Pam Snyder takes over as Ross County Farm Bureau president

Local farm bureau also votes on policies - including opposing Issue 1 on November ballot

At the Aug. 24 Ross County Farm Bureau annual meeting, Pam Snyder received the gavel from Kaitlyn Meeker as the new farm bureau president. Those gathered also approved 2023-24 county, state, and national priorities.

County policies include the development of a countywide comprehensive development plan that would include all aspects of solar energy development; workforce development programs to encourage individuals to seek employment with the Ross County Sheriff's Office and Department of Corrections; and improving and increasing the markings on public roadways to notify drivers of other vehicle usage on the roads.

State policies mirrored those of the Ohio Farm Bureau with one notable exception. The Ross County Farm Bureau took a nomination from the floor to officially oppose Issue 1 on the November 2023 ballot. The motion passed.

The local farm bureau also adopted the suggested national policies
